X-Ray Diffraction

It is helpful to measure crystallinity and orientation.X-ray diffraction is used for scanning different crystals. X-ray crystallography (XRC) is the experimental science determining the atomic and molecular structure of a crystal. Emerging diffracted pattern shows alternate dark and light bond on the screen.

Where d is spacing between diffractive planes,λ is the wavelength of the beam,n is any integer, X-rays are used to produce the diffraction pattern because their wavelength λ is typically the same order of magnitude (1–100 angstroms) as the spacing d between planes in the crystal.
