Question 43 (Textile Engineering & Fibre Science)

A ply yarn is made by twisting together two yarns of 20s Ne and 12 Ne. Neglecting twist contraction, the resultant count (Ne) of the ply yarn would be

(A)32
(B)16
(C)15
(D)8
[Show Answer]

Let,the resultant count of the ply yarn=R

By formula-

\frac{1}{R}=\frac{1}{20}+\frac{1}{12}

\frac{1}{R}=\frac{8}{60}

R=60/8

R=7.5s Ne
