Question 67 (Textile Engineering & Fibre Science)

With 500 mm specimen length, strain rate (% per min) on a tensile tester with 5 m/min jaw speed would be

(A)500
(B)1000
(C)5000
(D)10000
[Show Answer]

Option B is correct.

Given in the question-

Length of specimen=500 mm

Jaw speed=5 m/min
=5000 mm /min

Strain rate(% per min)=?

Strain rate(% per min)=Jaw speed x 100/Length of specimen

Strain rate(% per min)=5000 x 100/500

Strain rate(% per min)=1000 (Ans)
