Probability of occurrence of two events E₁ and E₂ is 0.25 and 0.5 respectively. The probability of their simultaneous occurrence is 0.14. The probability that neither E₁ nor E₂ occurs is

P(E1)=0.25
P(E2)=0.5
P(E1E2)=0.14
=1-P(E2)
=1-(0.25+0.5-0.14)
=0.39
The probability that neither E1 nor E2 occurs is 0.39 (Ans)
