###### Question 08 (General Aptitude)

The total exports and revenues from the exports of a country are given in the two pie charts below. The pie chart for exports shows the quantity of each item as a percentage of the total quantity of exports. The pie chart for the revenues shows the percentage of the total revenue generated through export of each item. The total quantity of exports of all the items is 5 lakh tonnes and the total revenues are 250 crore rupees. What is the ratio of the revenue generated through export of Item 1 per kilogram to the revenue generated through export of Item 4 per kilogram?

Write Here

Given-
Total quantity of export of all item=5 lakh tonnes
Total revenue=250 crore rupees
Revenue generated through export of item 1 per kg to revenue generated through export of item 4 per kg=?

Revenue of item 1 =(12%) x total revenue
Revenue of item 1 =(12%) x 250 crores=30 crores

Quantity of export of item 1=11% x total quantity
Quantity of export of item 1=11% x 5 lakh=0.55 lakh
So,
Revenue generated through export of item 1 per kg =30/0.55
Similarily-

Revenue of item 4 =(6%) x total revenue
Revenue of item 4 =(6%) x 250 crores=15 crores

Quantity of export of item 4=22% x total quantity
Quantity of export of item 4=22% x 5 lakh=1.1 lakh
So,
Revenue generated through export of item 4 per kg =15/1.1
Now,
Revenue generated through export of item 1 per kg to revenue generated through export of item 4 per kg=Revenue generated through export of item 1 per kg/Revenue generated through export of item 4 per kg
=(30/0.55)/(15/1.1)
=4:1 (Ans)
Option D is correct.
