Question 08 (General Aptitude)

In the given figure angle Q is a right angle, PS:QS=3:1, RT:QT=5:2 and PU:UR = 1:1. If area of triangle QTS is 20 cm² , then the are of triangle PQR in cm² is __280__.

=xy= $20 cm^2$
Area of triangle PQR= $\frac{1}{2}\times PQ \times QR=\frac{1}{2}\times (PS+QS) \times (RT+QT)$
Area of triangle PQR= $\frac{1}{2}\times (3x+x) \times (5y+2y)$
Area of triangle PQR= $\frac{1}{2}\times 4x \times 7y$
Area of triangle PQR= $\frac{1}{2}\times 28xy$
Area of triangle PQR= $\frac{1}{2}\times 28 \times 20$
Area of triangle PQR= $280 cm^2$ (Ans)
