Given in the question:
1st passage–
2 polyester sliver and 6 viscose rayon sliver blended together ,
2nd passage–
4 sliver from previous passage blended with 2 combed cotton sliver
The viscose % in the final sliver=?
Calculation–
1st passage–
2 polyester sliver and 6 viscose rayon sliver blended together ,
i.e.,there are total 8 sliver
By unitary rule-
8 sliver have total=6 viscose sliver
Then, 1 sliver=6/8 viscose sliver
2nd passage–
4 sliver from previous passage blended with 2 combed cotton sliver
i.e., total number of slivers in the final blend=4+2
=6
Then,
4 sliver drawn from previous passage have=(6/8)*4 viscose sliver
=3 vicose sliver
Now,
Percentage of viscose sliver in the final sliver=[3/(total number of sliver in the final blend)]*100
Viscose% in the final sliver=(3/6)*100
=300/6
Viscose% in the final sliver=50 (Answer)
