Question 37 (Textile Engineering & Fibre Science)

A rotor with 48 mm diameter running at 90,000 rpm is producing yarn at 140 m/min. The number of doublings of fibre layers in the rotor is __96.85 : 97.05__.

[Show Answer]

Write Here

Given in the question

Diameter of rotor=48 mm
D=48*10-3 meter

Rotational speed of rotor=90000 rpm

FRD=140 m/min

The number of doublings of layers in the rotor=?

Formula:

TPI=Rotational speed of rotor/FRD

TPM=90000/140

TPM=643

i.e. 1 meter have=643 turns

Then,
\pi D  meter have=643 \times \pi \times 48 \times 10^-3

=643 x 3.14 x 48 x 10-3

No. of doubling of fibres layers in rotor=96.91 (Answer)
