Question 47 (Textile Engineering & Fibre Science)

Two rovings, each with mass CV of 10% are fed to a ring spinning machine the adds a mass CV of 20%. The mass CV (%) of the yarn (rounded off to 2 decimal places) is __21.00 to 22.00__.

[Show Answer]

Write Here

No. of roving=2
Mass CV of roving (CVin)=10%

Additional mass CV at ring frame(CVadd)=20%

The mass CV% of the yarn(CVout)=?

Calculation by formula:

CVout=\sqrt{CV^2_{add} + CV^2_{resultant}

and

CVresultant=CVin/\sqrt{No. of rovings}

CVresultant=CVin/\sqrt{2}

CVresultant=10/1.41

CVresultant=7.09

CVout=\sqrt{20^2 + 7.09^2}

CVout=\sqrt{400+50.26}

CVout=\sqrt{450.27}

CVout=21.22 (Answer)
