Question 51 (Textile Engineering & Fibre Science)

A fabric with mass per unit area 250 g/m2 has flexural rigidity of 275 \mu N\cdot m. The bending length (mm) of the fabric (rounded off to 2 decimal places) is __46.00 to 50.00__.

[Show Answer]

Given in the question

Fabric mass per unit area(W)=250 g/m2

Flexural regidity(G)=275 \mu N\cdot m

Bending length of the fabric(C)=?

Formula:

G=W x C3 ,

Where, G is flexular regidity , C is bending length

275*10-6*103/9.8=250 x C3 (1\mu N=10-6 N and 1 kg=1000 gm)

C3 =(275*10-3)/(9.8*250)

C3 =0.1122*10-3

C=\sqrt[3]{0.1122} *10-1

C=0.4823*10-1 meter

C=0.4823*10-1 *103 mm

C=0.4823 *102 mm

C=48.23 mm (Answer)
