Trumpet guide or condensers are used in the drafting section of the machine in roving frame. There are three condensers are used first one is used just before the back pair of rollers, its main purpose to lead the sliver properly in to the drafting arrangement. Second condenser is used near the middle pair of rollers and third condenser is used just before the front pair of roller. The purpose of last two condenser (second and third) or trumpet guide is to bring back the fibre mass in to a strand that tends to tear apart because of the drafting action.
Apron spacers are used to give some spacing to the fibres in drafting and avoid the cracker formation. Spacer are used between top and bottom apron.
Pressure bars are used to give optimum pressure to the top drafting rollers so that floating fibres can be avoided.

Frequently Asked Questions | FAQs

What is role of spacer in roving frame ?

n a roving frame, a spacer is a component that is used to separate and guide the roving strands as they are fed into the drafting zone. The drafting zone is the part of the machine where the roving is drawn out and thinned into a finer, more consistent strand.

The role of the spacer is to prevent the individual roving strands from tangling or crossing over each other, which could result in irregularities or defects in the final roving product. The spacer also helps to guide the roving strands through the drafting zone, ensuring that they are evenly drawn out and twisted to form a smooth, consistent yarn.

Spacers can be made of various materials, such as metal, plastic, or ceramic, and can take different shapes depending on the specific design of the roving frame. Some spacers may have a serrated or textured surface to provide additional grip on the roving strands and prevent slippage. Overall, the use of spacers in a roving frame is an important part of the process for producing high-quality yarn from raw fiber.

What is role of trumpet in roving frame ?

In a roving frame, a trumpet is a funnel-shaped component that is located at the front of the drafting system, just before the roving enters the drafting rollers. The primary role of the trumpet is to help guide the roving strands into the drafting system and to reduce the tension and stress on the fibers as they enter the rollers.

Specifically, the trumpet serves several important functions in the roving frame:
Separation: The trumpet helps to separate and distribute the individual roving strands evenly across the width of the drafting system. This ensures that the fibers are drawn out uniformly and consistently to produce a high-quality yarn.
Tension control: The trumpet helps to reduce the tension and stress on the roving strands as they enter the drafting rollers. This is important because excessive tension can cause the fibers to break or produce uneven yarn.
Dust removal: The trumpet can also help to remove any dust or debris that may be present on the roving strands, which can improve the quality and appearance of the final yarn.

Overall, the use of a trumpet in a roving frame is an important part of the process for producing high-quality yarn from raw fiber.
