In melt spinning, the mass throughput rate of polymer is 210 g/min, the winding speed is 3000 m/min, and the linear density of the yarn produced is 200 denier. The effective draw ratio, (rounded off to two decimal places), is __3.00 to 3.30___.

Draw ratio=Take-up speed/output speed
Draw ratio=VL/VO ,
Draw ratio=Linear density(denier) of the polymer(Do)/Linear density(denier) of the yarn(DL)

As given in the question:
Mass throughput rate of polymer is 210 g/min ,winding speed is 3000 m/min and
linear density of the yarn(DL) = 200 denier
So, linear density of the polymer(Do)=(Mass throughput rate of the polymer/winding speed)*9000
=(210/3000)*9000
=630 denier ,
Now,
Draw ratio=Linear density(denier) of the polymer(Do)/Linear density(denier) of the yarn(DL)
=630/200
Draw ratio=3.15 (Answer)
