Question 52 (Textile Engineering & Fibre Science)

the direct twist factor of 35 Nm yarn is 36 tpcm.tex1/2 . The twist per inch of the yarn is approximately

(A)17
(B)19
(C)21
(D)23
[Show Answer]

Given in the question-

Twist factor(TF)=36 tpcm.tex^(\frac{1}{2})

Yarn count=36 Nm

By relationship-

Nm=1.69Ne

36=1.69Ne

Ne=36/1.69

Ne=21.30

By relationship-

Tex=590.5/Ne

Tex=590.5/21.30

Tex=590.5/21.30

Tex=27.72

Twist per Inch(TPI)=?

By formula-

TPCM=\frac{TF}{\sqrt Tex}

TPCM=\frac{36}{\sqrt 27.72}

TPCM=\frac{36}{5.27}

TPCM=6.83

1 inch=2.54 cm

TPI=6.83 x 2.54

TPI=17.34

or

TPI=17 (Ans)
