Question 28 (Textile Engineering & Fibre Science)

For a sizing process, the target add-on (%) and the size paste concentration (%) is 10 and 20, respectively. If the oven dry mass of the supply warp sheet is 100 kg, the mass of water in kg to be evaporated from the warp sheet during drying is ____________________

[Show Answer]

Given in the question-

Target add-on(%)=10

Size paste concentration(%)=20

Oven dry mass of supply warp sheet=100 kg

Mass of water in kg to be evaporated from the warp sheet during drying=?

Now,

Size weight=Oven dry mass of warp sheet x target add on/100

Size weight=100 x 10/100

=10 kg

Now ,by unitary rule-

if 20% size paste concentration have=10 kg size

then, 100%…………………….”…………..have=10×100/20

=50 kg size

Water evaporated=50-10

Water evaporated=40 kg (Ans)
