Question 22 (Textile Technology & Fibre Science)

If the ratio of the linear densities (denier) of two circular fibers is 3, the corresponding ratio of their diameters, (rounded off to two decimal places), is ___1.70 to 1.75___.

Formula:
d=4.44*10^-3 $\sqrt{tex(T)/fibre density(\rho ))}$ cm
As given,ratio of linear densities of two circular fibres is 3 i.e. T₁/T₂=3
By formula dia of fibre is directly proportions to the square root of fibre linear density,
i.e. d $\propto$ T
i.e d₁/d₂= $\sqrt{T1/T2}$
so, d₁/d₂= $\sqrt{3}$ ,
Then, d₁/d₂=1.73 (Answer)
