Question 46 (Textile Technology & Fibre Science)

A roving of 2 Ne count is fed to a ringframe set with a mechanical draft of 30. If the length of the drafted strand delivered from the nip of the front rollers is reduced by 3 % due to twist then the count (Ne) of the yarn, (rounded off to one decimal place), is ___58.0 to 58.4__.

Draft=Output count/Input count

As given mechanical draft=30 ,Input count=2 Ne

By putting these values to the formula:
Draft=Output count/Input count
30=Output count/2
Output count=30*2
Output count=60 (i.e. count of ring frame yarn)

As states in the question length of the drafted strand delivered from the front nip is decreased by 3%

So,final output count=60-(60*3/100)
Count of the yarn=58.20s Ne (Answer)
